TACTICAL DEFENSE ENCOUNTER SHOOTING

 

This four-hour course immerses the student into the Defensive Encounter Pistol mindset and is designed specifically for those carrying a pistol outside the home or maintaining one in the home. Students are taught the fundamentals of incorporating speed, tactics, and accuracy into their shooting.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Pistol and Ammunition Selection

  • FBI Case Study

  • CT Firearm Use of Force Laws

  • Safety Briefing

  • Tactical Presentations

–       Stationary Pivoting Turns

–       Tactical Reloading

–       Kneeling Fire

–       Multi-Standing Fire

–       Motor Vehicle Fire

–       Barricade Shooting

–       Distinguishing and Use of Cover and Concealment

–       Holsters, Holstering and Drawing techniques

–       Laser Usage and Uses

–       Tactical Drill Course of Fire

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Bring to Class:

  1. Your primary pistol (Rentals available from instructor)

  2. 100 rounds ammunition target/range grade

  3. Belt holster w/ thumb strap (recommended)

  4. Two spare magazines

  5. Speed loader for revolvers

  6. Snap Caps

  7. Eye & Ear protection (will supply w/o charge if needed)

  8. Notebook & pen

  9. Cleaning kit

 

Course Fee: $165.

 

HF LearnSafety Cancellation Policy: You may cancel or reschedule a class ten (10) or more days prior to the class date at no charge. If cancellation occurs nine (9) to five (5) days prior to the class date, you will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the class price. You are responsible for paying 100% of the class price if you cancel four (4) days or less prior to the class date. Refunds will be issued if the seat is refilled, or if due to a serious documented medical emergency, an appropriate medical letter is provided directly by your physician or a hospital emergency room doctor to us. All refunds will incur a $10 processing fee.
