ARMED SECURITY OFFICER blue card course

 

HF LearnSafety LLC now provides the Connecticut State Police  approved Armed Security Guard Firearms Permit Class 1 Endorsement Course for your Blue Card.

 

Armed Security Guard Training

A licensed certification card with the Firearms Permit Endorsement on your CT Permit for Pistols and Revolvers is required for armed security guards in the State of Connecticut. This is known as the Blue Card Course. You must also be offered an armed security position with a licensed security agency The security company is required to submit your paperwork to the State Police License and Firearms Unit.. The Connecticut Department of Public Safety is responsible for issuing your license once all requirements are met. The license is good for five years and then renewable is applicable.

Basic requirements for Armed Security guards in Connecticut:

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • United States citizen or legal alien

  • No felony convictions or any crime involving the illegal use of weapons

  • Never disqualified from owning a firearm

  • Successfully  criminal background check

  • Fingerprinting

  • Passport photo

  • No previous security license denial

  • Drug testing may be required

  • Good moral character

  • Connecticut driver’s license

  • Blue Card Firearms permit endorsement Class 1 permit from Connecticut State Police (through HF LearnSafety LLC)

Firearms Permit Endorsement Course through HF LearnSafety LLC:

You will be taking an approved course by the Commissioner of Public Safety-CT State Police. At the conclusion of this course you will be able to submit your paperwork to the State of Connecticut to become a pistol permit licensed Class 1 armed security officer. The class includes 8 hours of classroom instruction and firing range qualification.

What you will learn:

 

*Identify and demonstrate firearm nomenclature and safety issues regarding the use and safe storage of firearms.

*Identify and demonstrate on duty firearm carry techniques with the appropriate equipment.

*Discuss and understand Connecticut General Statutes regarding firearm use of force and security officer laws.

*The technical aspects and legal responsibilities inherant in carrying and using a firearm as an armed security officer.

*Use of force (reasonable and deadly)

 

 

How you will graduate from the course:

 

        ·         Successfully pass a written examination with an 80% or higher score.

·         Pass a Live Course of Fire Firearms Qualification with an 80% or higher score.

Herbert Furhman is a Connecticut Police Academy Firearms Instructor, an NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, an NRA Civilian Firearms Instructor and a State of Utah Concealed Carry Firearms Permit Instructor.
